I admire the wishes of all posters to improve public education. Wouldn't it be wonderful to hire the best person for the job, in order to help all children fulfill their potential, rather than juggling factors like race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual preference? It only hurts us all in the end. My fingers are crossed that Seattle will realize that many minorities are unhappy that they are admitted to college or hired according to lower standards and do not want special treatment -- but to hired on merit, instead.
