Does anyone read this?

Did even a single idea from this discussion board appear in any revision of the Five Year Plan? I don't think so.

I feel like the district is giving people more opportunity to speak, and the people are saying more, but the district isn't listening any more than they were before.

Many of us have the sense that all of the decisions have already been made before we get to chime in. Many of us feel that the community forums are nothing more than window dressing to create the illusion of community engagement.

The comments are being read and many comments will be reflected in the final draft of the Five-Year Plan. Here are some examples:

--Arts -- Strategies to increase the focus on the arts will be more visible;
--Average Salaries -- The district finance administration agrees that average salaries should not be used to account for school expenses. This change is expected to be made administratively and within the next year.
--Plan to attract and retain students -- There will be a strategy under Goal 5 to develop a plan for attracting and retaining students in the next draft of the Five-Year Plan
