Comments:
Music in our schools is an essential element to the Seattle Public School system.  It has been proven time again that children's math scores are higher when involved in music.

Instrumental Music in the elementary program is essential because without music at an early age there will be no music in our middle or high schools.  We are constantly fighting to keep these programs alive which provide some of the most positive results in our students.  Marcus Pimpleton is a prime example of a student who benefited from music in our schools and has already given back to Denny Middle School,  All City Marching Band the the entire Seattle community by providing a great role model for all students.

As a parent who has had children in instrumental music starting in elementary and going forward into middle and high school and further into college music programs I have seen the immediate & important benefits that instrumental music has provided my children.

As a former Seattle Council PTSA board member and parent I strongly urge the Seattle School District to continue to "Deliver on the Dream" by providing all students the opportunity to participate in music in our public schools.
