I taught elementary music in Seattle Public Schools for 22 years.  I had a wonderful experience teaching music in Seattle Schools.  The children enjoyed learning multicultural dances and songs.  Our  musical groups performed at school programs and outside school events.  The children looked forward to learning music and enjoyed the performances.  The elementary music experience built the children's self-esteem, taught them culture, and gave them another positive outlet to express themselves.  Currently, I am into my fifth year of teaching elementary music in the Wenatchee School District.  Students here are also improving their self-esteem, culture, and positive expression in choir, musicals, and parades.  Music improves the overall child's interest in school and artistic development whether in Seattle or Wenatchee.  I would like to see elementary music in every Seattle elementary school and throughout our state to give music for every child.
